How Pulse works
- What it covers
- Public social media posts from aesthetic clinics in the SkinDay directory, for the country or territory you have selected. Each Pulse covers one month and is updated monthly.
- What counts as a mention
- A post counts when it names a product in its text. Posts that only list products in a string of hashtags, and posts that compare products, are left out, because they do not reliably show what a clinic offers. Generations of the same product are counted together, for example Thermage FLX and Thermage CPT as Thermage.
- What’s trending
- Each product’s share of all product mentions in the month. A post naming two products counts for both, so the shares within a section add up to 100%.
- Businesses posting
- The number of separate businesses that posted about the product. A group that runs one account for several locations counts once.
- What’s launching
- Each product’s share of posts announcing that a product is new at the clinic, such as “Introducing” or “Now available”. An announcement shows new promotion; it is not proof of a new purchase.
- What’s appearing
- Products clinics posted about that had few or no known owners in the country before. These are early, small signals rather than trends.
- Where the posts came from
- The province or area of the clinics that posted about the product.
- Toxin brands
- “Botox” on its own is treated as generic wording, since clinics use it for any neurotoxin. Botox Cosmetic counts only when the full brand is named.
- Changes over time
- September 2026 is the baseline month. Changes against the previous month appear from November.
- Limits
- Posting reflects what clinics promote, not how often a treatment is performed or sold. The data is not perfect and will keep getting better as coverage grows.
